Magdalene's, Inc.

Magdalene’s, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization organized in April of 2020. Our purpose is to help women survivors of trafficking, prostitution, abuse, and addiction through Christian-based therapeutic, rehabilitative, and vocational programming. Our mission is to love and serve all women in their journey toward healing and restoration. We are beginning our work with women who are or at risk of being sex trafficked.

Our initial efforts focused on launching our social enterprise to ensure sustainability of the program. Magdalene’s Gifts & Gatherings is a gift shop specializing in selling artisan designed products, much of which is survivor crafted. Products include jewelry, candles, original art, photography, pottery, purses, handbags, home décor, books written by local survivors and more. The grand opening took place on October 1, 2021, and has been very well received by the community. Magdalene’s Gifts & Gatherings was established in a building with a recent history of trafficking and operated as a massage parlor, the number one leader in venues for sex trafficking. In 2022, we turn our full attention to Magdalene’s House, a residential home for survivors of sex trafficking where long-term treatment will be provided for each woman’s recovery through addressing the profound physical abuse experienced by survivors of trafficking and treatment for the drug and alcohol addiction used to numb their pain, restoration through trauma-informed care to begin the deep healing needed for their recovery and renewal, and renewal by empowering them to live independently through life skill and vocational training and offering education opportunities.
