Every Child A Reader in Escambia (ECARE), in partnership with United Way of Escambia County, is recruiting volunteers interested in serving as a ReadingPal for one hour per week with a pre-kindergarten student at Weis Elementary School, Semmes Elementary School, Montclair Elementary School, McMillan Pre-K Center, or Global Learning Academy. Volunteers unable to make a weekly commitment may serve as a ReadingPal Partner and commit to two days per month.
A successful background check including references and a national fingerprint-based criminal history screen is required. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, able to work independently with a four year old student, and be smoke, tobacco and nicotine free while serving as a ReadingPal.
