Every Child A Reader in Escambia (ECARE) is recruiting ReadingPals to mentor Pre-K students. ReadingPals help students build strong pre-literacy and social-emotional skills necessary for kindergarten success.
If you are interested in making an impact in a child's life, attend a ReadingPals Orientation to learn how you can help.
Volunteers are asked to make a commitment for the duration of the school year (through May). In-Person ReadingPals sessions are 45 minutes a week, and Virtual ReadingPals sessions are 30 minutes a week.
Volunteers who want to be involved but cannot make the weekly commitment may partner with a friend and alternate weeks.
A successful background check including references and a national fingerprint-based criminal history screen is required (at no cost to you). Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, able to work independently with a four-year old student, and be smoke, tobacco and nicotine free while serving as a ReadingPal.
Lunch will be provided.
