Enhancing Family Safety for DV Cases outlines the policies in place that address safety planning requirements for cases involved intimate partner violence. There can be different types of safety plans for the alleged offender, non-offending caregiver and child; however, there are also safety plans that a non-offending caregiver may create with a DV advocate. The best safety planning occurs when there is a strong working relationship between child welfare professionals and advocates to the greatest extent possible.
