We are pleased to announce that BRACE will participate in the American Red Cross’s National Sound the Alarm Event on January 12th, 17th, and 20th in partnership with the City of Pensacola Fire Department.
This three-part event aims to provide life-saving resources to the community by canvassing and installing smoke alarms in identified neighborhoods and educating residents on fire safety. We are grateful for the opportunity to assist the City of Pensacola Fire Department in its mission to keep our community safe and sound.
Here is the event schedule:
FRIDAY, JANUARY 12 FROM 1-4 PM
We will meet at the Red Cross office (9111 Sturdevant St, Pensacola, FL 32514) and get locations and supplies to canvas neighborhoods identified by the City of Pensacola Fire Department. We will be placing postcards around homes to let them know the actual installation date will be Saturday, January 20th.
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 17 FROM 3-5 PM
Meet at the Red Cross office to learn how to complete the service acknowledgement forms, educational packets, and where to place smoke alarms in homes.
SATURDAY, JANUARY 20TH FROM 8:30 AM TO NOON
Meet at the City of Pensacola Fire Department located at 475 East Strong Street, PNS, to start installing. We will have some addresses already identified and teams will be determined. Our goal is to install 250 alarms in one day!
We would be honored to have you join us as a volunteer for this important event. Your time and dedication will help keep families safe from the threat of fire. No experience is required, and all necessary training and materials will be provided. You must attend the training on the 17th in order to participate on the 20th.
If you are interested in volunteering, please email volunteercoord@bereadyalliance.org or call (850) 379-3979 with any questions. Thank you for your continued support and dedication to our community.
