Volunteer: Grant Writer/Researcher

Sisters of Hope is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Volunteer Grant Writer / Researcher to support our mission of empowering women and families impacted by the criminal legal system. This role plays a vital part in helping us secure funding to expand our programs and services.

The volunteer will assist with researching grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies that align with our mission. Responsibilities include identifying funding prospects, reviewing eligibility requirements, organizing grant calendars, gathering supporting documents, drafting proposal sections, and assisting with the preparation and submission of grant applications.

This opportunity is ideal for individuals with strong writing, research, and organizational skills who are passionate about nonprofit work, community impact, and social justice.

Responsibilities:

Research potential grant opportunities and funding sources

Review grant guidelines and eligibility requirements

Assist in drafting and editing grant proposals

Compile required documents and supporting materials

Maintain a grant tracking spreadsheet and deadlines

Collaborate with leadership to gather program data and outcomes

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong writing and editing skills

Experience in grant writing or nonprofit research (preferred but not required)
