Feeding the Gulf Coast is in need of volunteers to help with packing 1,500 Thanksgiving boxes with dry and other shelf-stable Thanksgiving themed food items. Teams will pack these boxes in an assembly line style inside the warehouse as they place items, tape boxes, and stack them on pallets. Please wear closed-toed shoes as we are an active warehouse.

Note: 10-12 volunteers are needed for the 9am-12pm shift and 12-14 volunteers for the 1pm-4pm shift. (26 in total; please do not exceed).

Chumuckla Elementary School is seeking volunteers to help paint the cafeteria stage walls black. This simple update will create a clean, professional backdrop that enhances lighting, highlights performers, and allows decorations or props to stand out during concerts, assemblies, and school performances. Your support will help us transform the stage into a space that better showcases our students’ talents and school events.

Organize and stock our freezers with donated meals and snacks for family use at the Ronald McDonald House. 

Also, individually packaged snacks, water bottles, coffee k-cups, etc...

Inspect and replace batteries in all smoke detectors throughout the facility to ensure safety compliance at the Ronald McDonald House.

Fully clear out attic, sort and organize stored items, and place them back in a neat, labeled, and accessible manner at the Ronald McDonald House.

Remove non-functional fountains, fill holes, pressure wash walkways and surfaces, and refresh landscaping by spreading pine straw at the Ronald McDonald House.

Build and install a gazebo to provide a shaded, welcoming area for families using the outdoor grills at the Ronald McDonald House.

Day of Caring – Beautification Project

Join us for a special Day of Caring as we come together to make Valerie’s House shine! We’ll be working outdoors to refresh and beautify our space with activities such as planting flowers, pulling weeds, spreading mulch, painting, and sprucing up the grounds.

Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes suitable for outdoor work, and don’t forget to bring work gloves, rakes, shovels, or any gardening tools you’d like to use.

We’ll provide coffee, drinks, and lunch to keep everyone fueled throughout the day. If you have any food allergies, please let us know in advance.

Your time and effort will help create a warm and welcoming environment for the children and families who come to Valerie’s House for healing and hope.

We need help painting exterior poles. The colors will be the same as the hallway colors. 

Volunteer paint exterior corridor doors & bus ramp posts the colors of our hallways (SEE MAP #2 WITH LOCATIONS CIRCLED).  colors: blue, green, orange, yellow, red, pink) to be delivered to our school for this project.

Volunteers will help transform the backyard and fence line of The Arc Gateway’s Potosi Place Group Home into a clean, safe, and welcoming outdoor space for residents. Tasks will include removing light debris, trimming back underbrush, and tidying the fence line to improve both safety and curb appeal.

Attire: Closed-toe shoes, comfortable outdoor clothing, work gloves recommended.

Equipment Needed: Volunteers may bring yard tools such as rakes, pruning shears, and trimmers, though some tools will be provided.

Gulf Breeze Middle School is looking for assistance with painting interior hallways and interior of locker rooms. Due to this, we would ask that the volunteer group be available either in the afternoon/evening on October 24, 2025 (after school dismisses) from 1:00-until or during the day on Saturday, October 25. 

We need some assistance in providing beautification to the front of our administrative complex at 6032 Hwy 90. Our employees come here for professional learning on a daily basis. Families come to register their students. A first impression matters and right now our front walkway is in desperate need of a makeover! This project may not take all day, but our office hours are 7:30am-4:00pm. 

Current Space:

We will need help removing current plants/shrubs, laying down pine straw, and planting new plants. We will have these items for you. It would be helpful to bring gloves and wear clothing for outdoors.

Join us at Bright Bridge Ministries to serve a couple hundred of our food insecure neighbors in the Brownsville area during our Hot, Healthy, Hearty Meal program in the morning and then after the Dining Hall closes, work with Bright Bridge staff to make the Dining Hall and Case Manager Hall spic-n-span for an exciting event happening the week after Day of Caring! We will need folks to help prep the food in the morning from 8:30-10:00 and then from 10:00-12:00 we will serve the food and host the guests. And then after a bite of lunch we will do some magic making in the Dining Hall which will include things to make the Dining Hall sparkle like new: Magic Eraser cleaning of all walled surfaces, paint touchups of trim and columns (white and Bright Bridge Blue), and some floor wax removal of doorways in preparation for new coat of floor wax the next day!

You can bring a smile to the faces of our wonderful military personnel and veterans in this community. Writing holiday cards that can be distributed throughout the year will surely offer them a "taste of home" If you want to help decorate stockings for homeless veterans, utilize your creative skills to bring some joy to those who need it. 

The Red Cross would love some help decorating for holidays. Be a part of creating a festive atmosphere so volunteers will receive some holiday cheer in the midst of responding to disasters.

You can be a part of saving lives in a few easy steps by participating in our Smoke Alarm Installation Project. Trained Red Cross staff/volunteers along with firefighters will be there to assist in educating people on home fire safety. Guaranteed you will walk away with a sense of satisfaction knowing you potentially help to save lives. 

We are looking for someone to help with touching up Bellview Elementary School, painting the benches, painting the doors, and fixing the paint on the walkway. 

Central School is excited to partner with United Way volunteers for a Day of Caring! This project will focus on enhancing the appearance and welcoming atmosphere of our campus. Volunteers will work together on campus beautification projects that will have a lasting impact on students, staff, and the community.

Pensacola Habitat for Humanity ReStore accepts donations of new and gently used home improvement items from individuals and businesses. We sell those items to the public at prices well below retail. The proceeds are then used to build homes with families in need in our community. The Pensacola Habitat for Humanity ReStore depends on enthusiastic volunteers for everything. Whether you enjoy interacting with the public or prefer tinkering behind the scenes, chances are we have a volunteer opportunity for you.

What to Wear: Comfortable clothes that you won’t mind getting sweaty and dirty! Closed toe shoes (work boots are preferred but thick soled tennis shoes are allowed). No flip flops, sandals, or shoes with heals. Shorts must be mid-thigh, no dresses or skirts allowed. Long or short sleeved shirts only.  Long hair should be pulled back.

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.  All volunteers will be required to sign a separate Volunteer waiver which will be provided prior to DOC.

Florida law requires elementary school students a mandatory 20 minute, unstructured recess time within the daily curriculum. It happens to be just a valuable as reading, math, science, social studies, and lunch. Recess is linked to the enhancement of achievement on a daily basis. Research shows that is provides social, emotional, physical, and mental benefits - all link to academic success and achievement in the classroom as well as in the community. Data from our student's success in academic assessments, mental-social-emotional implementations, cognitive stimulations, and school attendance and behavior -  has prepared them for not only elementary school transitions but for success in society and life holistically.

During recess, we allow the students unstructured play and imagination curriculum with supervision. The only flaw is our recess play area. It's very large and uncovered.  We could really use a couple of canopy covered areas in the middle of the play field. That way, student will at least have shaded areas from the sun and covers from the rain - just in case it unexpectedly rains in the middle of recess (which it sometime does). 

Canopy covering are cost effective and we hope that our sponsors will be able to help us.

Come help our construction crew with framing a Pensacola Habitat home for a family in our Home Buyer program! Volunteers are the backbone of what we do and play an important role in helping us build homes, communities, and hope here in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties.

You will be helping with framing - the process of connecting building materials together to create the home's structure.  No construction experience is necessary! Please arrive by 7:45 a.m. Our crew leaders will give a safety talk around 8:00 a.m. and will check you all in. Please bring a folding chair if you can, to ensure there are enough seats to accommodate larger groups. There will be a break for lunch around 11:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided, as well as water and Gatorade throughout the day.  The day will end around 2:00 p.m. In regard to minors: Volunteers must be 16 years old or older to volunteer for framing.  A separate waiver from Pensacola Habitat is required for all volunteers and will be provided prior to DOC.

We are very blessed to have received donations from our community; however, we are overwhelmed and need help organizing and distributing some of our bounty. We are seeking volunteers to help set up and organize our donation room. This space stores essential supplies that support the individuals and families we serve, and organizing it will help ensure items are easy to find and distribute when needed most.

Volunteer Opportunity: Help Brighten Our Office Space

Opening Doors NWFL serves as the lead agency for Federal and State grants, providing services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties.

We are seeking volunteers to help paint 22 interior office doors at our facility. A fresh coat of paint will brighten our office and create a more welcoming and calming environment for individuals and families in crisis who come to meet with our Care Navigators.

Volunteer Details:

Education Outdoors is a continued theme at Brown-Barge Middle School. In previous years, the Day of Caring volunteers cleared a hiking trail on campus, refurbished the long jump track, and created an outdoor classroom. This year, we want to continue building our outdoor learning spaces by constructing two kit gazebos, constructing a kit shed for the Garden Club, completing a previously started hammock reading nook, and doing some light clean up of the hiking trail. 

We are so excited to have another fabulous Day of Caring at Lipscomb!  
Some projects we are interested in are:  

-Painting the poles in front of the school with a purple stripe and posting a Leader in Me Habit.
-Flower beds. We have 4 small flower beds that we need help working on.  

We are in need of painting a few areas on campus that need a fresh coat of paint. We will provide the supplies for the project. 

We also have a few hallways that are in desperate need of a deep cleaning. They were not able to be cleaned this summer. 

You will want to wear paint clothes and clothes that can get dirty. This would include shoes that may get paint on them. 

We will be working indoors. We do have lounges with fridges available to store food/drinks/lunch.

On Saturday October 25th, 2025, Big Brothers Big Sisters hosts a charitable ride dedicated to the memory of Fenner McConnell and Matt Wantz. Both men were avid cyclists and former members of the West Florida Wheelmen.  Dr. Fenner McConnell was killed in 1998 by a hit and run driver as he rode his bicycle across the Bob Sikes Bridge. Matt was tragically killed while working in a local bike shop. The event is dedicated to both men, to carry on their memories. Big Brothers Big Sisters needs help to assemble the packets that will go out on October 24th as part of packet pickup that starts at 10am.  This will be a fast paced assembly line.  In the past there have been around 300 participants in the Fenner Ride so we will be assembling approximately 300 packets. 

Teaching little ones is a hard task! We will show our love and appreciation to our Global Learning Academy staff and faculty, by stocking Pangea (aka Teachers' Lounge). This is an inside/ come and go project, so comfortable attire is a must!

We will provide healthy (and some unhealthy) snacks, as well as encouraging notes to these amazing professionals!!

Here are some ideas: Sodas, Water, Bottled Tea, Drink Mixes & Flavorings, Chips, Cookies, Apple Sauce, Muffins, Trail Mix, Baked Fruit Treats.

This year, we propose combining our annual Red Ribbon Rally with the Day of Caring event to create a more engaging and impactful experience for our students. By merging these two initiatives, we aim to promote healthy, drug-free lifestyles while also encouraging community involvement and service. The event will include a variety of stations featuring fun physical activities, creative crafts, and informative booths centered around making positive life choices. To make this a success, we are seeking volunteers to assist with running these stations and helping students rotate through the activities. Your support will help us bring this day to life and leave a lasting impression on our students. Thank you for considering being part of this meaningful and memorable event!

6-8 volunteers are needed to help pull weeds and do some basic yard work at our Higher Education Home in Pensacola (close to UWF).  This home provides a safe place for our students who were in the foster care system or an alternative living situation so that they can succeed in higher education and life beyond graduation!  This project will be outside.  Volunteers will need to bring gloves, hand clippers, yard trash bags.  We'll meet at the Volunteer Greet and Meet to review details and answer questions.

Pawsitive Pathways & Inspiring Hallways is a fun project that will add colorful paw prints and uplifting quotes throughout our school. The paw prints will guide car and bus riders as they enter and leave the building, while inspiring quotes will flow through hallways to motivate and encourage everyone. It’s all about creating a welcoming, positive space for students, families, and staff!

Help support Furry Friends of the Panhandle Rescue. Your generous gift of common items will go a long way in providing the necessary care and comfort for our furry friends. Collect as many items as possible on October 18 from family, friends, co-workers, etc. to help all the puppies at the rescue.
