ReadingPals is a school-based mentoring program, co-managed by United Way of Escambia County and Every Child A Reader in Escambia, that helps 4-year-old pre-kindergarten students build strong pre-literacy skills necessary for kindergarten success. Interested in impacting a student's future? Learn more about the program and how you can serve as a ReadingPal by attending a ReadingPals Orientation. Lunch will be provided.
The volunteer commitment is one hour per week for the duration of the school year, or two days per month as a ReadingPal Partner.
A successful background check including references and a national fingerprint-based criminal history screen is required. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, able to work independently with a four year old student, and be smoke, tobacco and nicotine free while serving as a ReadingPal.
