ReadyKids! (formerly ECARE) is recruiting ReadingPals to mentor Pre-K students in the 2021-22 school year. ReadingPals help students build strong pre-literacy and social-emotional skills necessary for kindergarten readiness.

Volunteers are asked to make a commitment of 45 minutes per week for the duration of the school year (September through May). Volunteers can choose their preference of school and day of week.
Volunteers who want to be involved but cannot make the weekly commitment may partner with a friend and alternate weeks.
A successful background check including references and a national fingerprint-based criminal history screen is required (at no cost to you). Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, able to work independently with a four-year old student, and be smoke, tobacco and nicotine free while serving as a ReadingPal.
Lunch will be provided at the orientation.
