Description

Come help our construction crew with framing a Pensacola Habitat home for a family in our Home Buyer program! Volunteers are the backbone of what we do and play an important role in helping us build homes, communities, and hope here in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties.

You will be helping with framing - the process of connecting building materials together to create the home's structure.  No construction experience is necessary! Please arrive by 7:45 a.m. Our crew leaders will give a safety talk around 8:00 a.m. and will check you all in. Please bring a folding chair if you can, to ensure there are enough seats to accommodate larger groups. There will be a break for lunch around 11:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided, as well as water and Gatorade throughout the day.  The day will end around 2:00 p.m. In regard to minors: Volunteers must be 16 years old or older to volunteer for framing.  A separate waiver from Pensacola Habitat is required for all volunteers and will be provided prior to DOC.

What to Wear:  Comfortable clothes that you won’t mind getting sweaty and dirty! Shorts are allowed. Closed toe shoes (work boots are preferred, but thick soled sneakers are allowed). Feel free to bring your own hammer and gloves, but our crew will have everything you need. We also recommend that you wear sunscreen and bug spray.

Address of the Build Site- will be determined by October 10.  The home will be in either Escambia or Santa Rosa County.

Volunteering with us helps a family in our community realize the dream of affordable homeownership! Our dedicated volunteers play a vital role in achieving our mission and we could not serve our community without the generosity of so many volunteers like you.
